Released on fog-white vinyl, the second release by Overcasts, AERIE is brought to you when the overcast and foggy weather officially starts here in Olympia, WA. It's been two years, and it feels right to release another record during a time in our lives marked by change: change of season, change to self, and change in our community. Our new favorite song to play is Edge, about how life these days feels like dangling our legs over the edge of a volcano. We also take time to get personal on this record, like in the song 4AM, which is about our daughter's birth in the early morning hours six years ago. AERIE is an album that allowed us to learn about ourselves throughout the process and our relationships as parents, educators, and musicians. It also feels great to have our dear friend, Ben Kamen, playing saxophone on this album with us. We invite you to join our ongoing story by listening to AERIE, and we truly hope it feels like a protective nest that gives you perspective as if built high in a tree or on a cliff.

The Overcasts were formed out of the rainy haze of Olympia by schoolteachers, Jen Grady and Eric Sarai. They have created a sound that blends the music stylings of Broadcast, Cat Le Bon, Landing, Mazzy Star, and WIRE.
